Hello again, friends! Happy 11.25! <3
For Party No. 11, I held Thanksgiving Dinner with a twist. We had turkey meatloaf cupcakes with mashed potato frosting, roasted green beans and pumpkin pie. Instead of cranberries in sauce form, I decided to add the festive berries to our drinks! I was inspired by this recipe.
Want to make your own Cranberry Margarita? Mix together 1 part of your favorite tequila, 2 parts of the best quality cranberry juice you can find, 1 part lime juice with 1 part orange juice. You can rim the glass with salt or sugar - or half sugar, half salt! Make sure to incorporate real cranberries somewhere, either as a garnish or blend some up to add a real zing to the drink. Serve over ice.
I was knee deep in food prep when my guests arrived. It happens! Thankfully, Bartender Becca jumped to action and mixed up the first round of drinks for us. I had already made the garnishes earlier that afternoon. I grouped cranberries of the same size onto a single toothpick. We floated them in the drinks which fancied up this relatively easy to make drink.
I love a good margarita, and never would have thought to serve them with a Thanksgiving themed dinner, until now! We sipped on our pretty drinks with dinner, and chatted without distraction. We talked freely about work, goals, and the upcoming holidays. We caught up on life, and ended the night in my closet trying on dresses. I'm not sure I could have planned a more lovely party if I tried.
Happy Thanksgiving! I think this means it's officially the Holiday Season! During this time of Joy and Merriness, remember to check in with yourself often. Leave your self-judgement at the door and give yourself the gift of slack. Create your OWN traditions. Let go of the "shoulds" and celebrate what is.
More on that to come. I'm so excited to be documenting and sharing this special time of year on the blog.
