This month included: a brief spell of rain (we haven’t gotten any more since), garden gourds in the front yards of Midtown, fall light on downtown buildings, a quick trip to my parent’s, the downtown ice skating rink going up, flower petals making art on the sidewalk, post-housewarming decompressing, morning light on buildings, nighttime reset, a walk around the park (a rare scene for me this month), a hair appointment!, homemade spaghetti with Survivor on in the background, a practice video proposal, downtown at night, a cold early morning fall scene, baby steps back into sewing, an overnight with Rory, gorgeous fall trees, a cotton candy sky after work, my current outfit of choice, more sewing, a night with Mom and Dad, vitamin and supplements scene, Greek lunch with my Dad, a lovely sunset, apartment update with art on the walls!, downtown sidewalk lights, all white goodness from IKEA, a needed carwash, downtown at midday.
Photographing Sacramento’s Wide Open Walls mural project, when I catch them around town!
Celebrating my bravery of spirit! After a decade(?) of not riding a bike, I got back on the (literal) bike and am now using it on my work commute. Thanks to Jump in Sacramento, my hiatus has ended!
Watching The Good Place on Netflix. The second season’s finale really hooked me, so I’m excited that the next season is starting this week. It’s a quirky concept but fun story telling.
Cooking enchiladas! I tried the Trader Joe’s sauce in a bottle and I give it two thumbs up. My current kitchen is much smaller (also, no dishwasher or garbage disposable) than kitchens of my past, but it felt good to cook for a friend recently. I’m interested to see if my eating/cooking habits adjust as the weather gets colder.
Going to IKEA to finally get a living room floor lamp and get my apartment cozified for fall.
Enjoying homemade dinners at friend’s houses. Thanks ladies!
Feeling grateful for how much grace people continue to show me. And enjoying how friendship can blossom under crazy circumstances. <3
Finishing another month, and very ready for some fall weather, finally. I know I say it all the time, but seasons changing in Sacramento is one of my favorite things to witness. Bring it on autumn!
Doing more yoga after a few weeks off. It feels so nice to have found a studio that I love, and to return to this practice after years away.
Loving the below poem that was read at a recent yoga class. It totally spoke to my heart and was a welcome reminder that everything is connected.
