January included waking up to a new year with a beautiful Tahoe view, Dad cooking pulled pork in the crock pot with Henry in town, rain on the way to work, leftover Christmas decorations, nest spotting on my walk, night time talks with Dad, Oprah crushing it, Haver Square quilt cutting, my favorite red rain boots, picking up pizza for lunch at work, my current breakfast of whole wheat Trader Joe's bagels, Haver Square blocking, Drake's Dealership, self-care tea, walks with Dad, mini golfing, bulb planting, bowling, reading It's "Okay to Laugh", a succulent gift, angel's trumpets on my walk, nightstand views, hyacinth in the light, nights at Drake's brewery, grapefruit loving, Tuesdays in Sacramento, and greenery on my walk. Plus, my current Gabby Bernstein card and HappyLight, freshly cut and colored hair with the windows down, my finished rainbow quilt, walking with my new buddy, my Dad recording his 1 second, and crazy garden progress.
Planting a whole bed full of tulips! My Mom and I picked out both classic and parrot shaped varieties and I can't wait for them to sprout in the next few weeks.
Reading It's Okay to Laugh: (Crying Is Cool Too) by Nora McInerny Purmort (for only $1.99 on Kindle). This book had been on my reading list, and I'm glad I finally dug into it. Each night before bed, I've found myself coming back for more. I love Nora's writing style and am proud of her for telling her story of life during and after loss.
Watching my #1SE video from 2017. ICYMI, here it is in it's entirety.
Discovering Drake's Brewery! And loving it. <3
Going to bed at about the same time every night. Never underestimate the power of a nighttime routine.
Feeling drained, especially this week. Trying to remind myself to refocus on self-care and what I need to be doing to nourish myself first and foremost.
Loving this article about a widow and widower falling in love with each other. I think my biggest take away is in the idea of starting over. And that there is always hope, and there will always be more love to be had.
Enjoying this video from a few weeks ago, featuring a killer explanation of the making of "Shape of You".
Celebrating another year of blogging in the books! I started YOP in January 2015 and here we are in January of 2018. Amazed at how much as changed in that short of a period of time. Grateful for the readers and followers, and growth over these three years.
