Monday the March 20th marked this year's spring equinox, the day of the year where the daylight and dark (or day and night) are equal in length. This is the official beginning of the days getting longer. I love formally noticing the changing of seasons, because I believe in nature's ability to guide me through my days and year as a whole. Read more about the equinox here.
To celebrate my Mom's birthday, and the arrival of spring, my family spent an afternoon at Filoli Gardens in Woodside, CA - 30 miles south of San Francisco. Filoli is one of the few remaining estates from the early 20th century, located on 16-acres with a gorgeous formal garden. The grounds are truly incredible, with the most beautiful flowers throughout the year. Right now the daffodils are fading out, making way for all the tulips we got to see during our visit last week.
This post is for anyone interested in checking out Filoli, or those who love flowers as much as I do. We took pictures with our iPhones, including my Dad's new iPhone 7 that has the awesome portrait mode feature.
