Wearing sandals! Oh, the wonderful possibilities that come with sandal weather. <3
Reading this article on the idea of not turning a hobby into a hustle. This concept is something I wrestle with, especially when it comes to my sewing work. “We don’t have to monetize or optimize or organize our joy. Hobbies don’t have to be imbued with a purpose beyond our own enjoyment of them. They, alone, can be enough.”
Playing catch up with this blog post! A few days late, but in 10 years when I read these posts back, I don’t think I’ll care too much.
Watching this sweet video! I’m sure it’s going to go viral if it hasn’t already.
Trying to read a book while I eat breakfast, instead of scrolling instagram. So far, it’s partially been because I can’t put down Nora McInerny’s latest.
Cooking with more veggies! Loving Trader Joe’s riced cauliflower + broccoli + onion mix paired with their sriracha tofu. Highly recommend the combo!
Drinking more cold water. I’m trying to be diligent about filling up and using my water bottles and it’s been working. Anyone have a favorite water bottle or system for drinking more water throughout the day?
Going to all the yoga classes! I even wake up early on my days off to get to class (a huge deal in the life of this sleeper in-er.)
Enjoying this article about the calming effects of sewing, for some.
Feeling grateful for a weekend in San Diego with extended family this month. I loved seeing some far away family and exploring a town that holds good memories for my brother. I was nervous to be there without him, but in the end, felt closer to him while visiting. What a huge gift that was.
Smelling palo santo and candles every night. Trying to remember how much hygee I can create with my ambience.
Starting #the100dayproject this week! (Here’s a great background article and here is the website.) Ack! But actually, very excited to get it under way. I’ve been planning and plotting for weeks, so I feel ready to kick this off. I’ll be sewing 1 quilt block every day, culminating in 100 blocks for a new quilt! I’m also toying around with a second project: making my bed every morning. I know I should be doing this one already, but it hasn’t been a habit lately!
And a reminder: That really good days, and really good things are always around the corner.
Joy is possible, and there will always be sunshine to follow.
