One of my favorite aspects of living in Sacramento is how there is always something going on. I'm extra lucky, in that, Jason works for an organization that is active in the community. Last Saturday we spent the day soaking up all this city of ours had to offer.
In the morning, we walked in the Sac Pride Parade, celebrating the LGBTQ community. It was a new experience - to be a participant, and something I'll never forget. While we were downtown, we checked out the progress on the new Kings Arena, too.
After the parade we ate brunch at a hot-spot, Bacon & Butter. It was my first time going to their new location and I only wish I took more pictures of the food, and decor. The little league team that they sponsor was celebrating their winning season all together at a nearby table. (Check out the name on the back of their uniforms!) The food was excellent and worth the wait. Guess who also stopped by B&B on this Saturday afternoon? Mr. Sacramento himself, Major Kevin Johnson!
We ended our day of ALL things Sacramento with a trip to Bonney Field at Cal Expo to watch the Sacramento Republic FC. Because of Jason's endless connections we got to watch from the VIP section with friends, and hang out on the field after the game. I mean, what would a soccer match be without some post game selfies on the field?
Sunday we napped and ate Chipotle. Because, balance. And that is how you do Sacramento in June.
