I’m excited to be wrapping up my 2018 1 Second Everyday video! I used “Memories” by Petit Biscuit (following my trend of previous P.B. songs) as my background song. So much of what I said last year still holds true for me and this project.
2018 included some major adjustments. Big things like, moving into a new apartment in my favorite city, and changing jobs! These huge changes gave way to the smaller things like, what the scenes on my walks looked like, my commute, my dinners, my solo nighttime routines. This video captures those transitions for me.
One thing that strikes me is that there wasn’t one day that was black and the next day white: there was no pre-move or post-move moment. Life continued on like “normal”, one second at a time. I stayed the same, but the background changed. My lifestyle shifted but the characters remained! I was still me (arguably becoming more me over the course of the year).
This year brought a ton of growth. More time and space on my grief journey. More therapy. I learned how to live solo for the first time! I gradually slid into a routine of work, and yoga, and a new robust schedule. There is still plenty of sadness, but the scales do tip to joy more often these days. I’m happy that I’m able to notice that fact.
So there it is, another full year, captured through seconds of video. When taken together it’s a beautiful montage of a video that lasts 6ish minutes. And awesomely, I got to live it one day at a time. For that, I am very grateful.
Love and light as we continue through 2019.
