February included: some time in LA, a frantic sewing frenzy before my first ever art show!, puppy snuggles while dog sitting, sunshine between the rain, my Valentine’s Day flowers from myself, feeling fancy before work, hail in the Target parking lot, the view from inside my gate, a super cool new pin, a work craft project, a broken watermelon bowl :(, couch relaxing, the nearly finished work display, twinning with Melissa and our meditation book, walking to work, a sliver of daylight while getting to my car, more walking to work, a fun bumper sticker that made me think of my brother, backyard blueberry buds, nature’s confetti, a midtown flower wall, post yoga sweaty vibes, and green amongst the city grey.
Enjoying the blue skies between lots of grey, rainy days this month. I’m loving all the rain but excited for a bit of spring on the horizon too.
Playing new Carly Rae Jepsen songs.
Watching the brand new Jonas Brother’s video! They are BACK!
Eating Thai chow mein from Orchid Thai in Sacramento.
Going to events! I’ve loved participating in The Blog Bloc mixers, a maker’s mixer at Shelf, plus my local Creative Mornings talk, all this past month. I get pretty nervous before going to things like these, but the more I put myself out there, the more comfortable I know I’ll get. So much value in the practice of practicing.
Dancing to Florence Welch performing with Maggie Rogers.
Dreaming of my #the100dayproject for 2019! I’m hooked on the concept of one quilt block a day equalling 100 rad quilt blocks. Currently, thinking that this book by Tula Pink will be my guide. Lots of questions to answer, and ways to prepare, but I’m stoked on really committing myself to a big project this year.
Feeling a buzz of physical anxiety lately. Noticing and trying to ride the wave and not let it crush me.
Listening to a silly podcast called “We Need to Talk About Britney” and reminiscing on my Britney Spears fandom.
Doing a bunch of creative projects at work and enjoying the chance to stretch the muscle on a professional scale.
Celebrating daffodil season at Trader Joe’s.
Thanking my friends who came out to the art show I was a part of this month! What a thrill to have my work displayed next to other artists. The experience of creating these pieces was a great exercise on time management for me personally. So much to learn! Here is a picture of me with my pieces.
January felt like it lasted about 79 days for me. Happy to finally be sitting down to record this month and share it here!
